The gosadi Designer Showcase at h+h Americas 2024

At gosadi, in addition to improving the ecommerce process and helping users increase sales and reach, our mission has always been to celebrate and showcase the incredible talent within our community of designers. This year, we had the privilege of bringing our gosadi Designer Showcase to h+h americas 2024, and what a journey it was!

From brainstorming the best display methods to finally seeing the showcase come to life, the experience was nothing short of inspiring and magical. If you missed it that’s ok, we’re ready to bring the display directly to your screen.

the challenge

For Vogue Knitting 2024, we decided to bring our community with us to the show and conceptualized the first-ever gosadi designer display. It was an incredible chance for us to bring the patterns we love to life!

We knew going into the planning process for h+h americas that we wanted to open this opportunity to an even broader selection of product categories. At VKL we mostly featured garments but at h+h americas NOTHING was off the table…or in our case bed.

When we first set out to plan our display the beautiful blanket submissions we received from gosadi designers posed a challenge that we hadn’t faced before.

Our initial plan was to hang the blankets as h+h has done in the past for quilts. However, we quickly realized that the weight of the blankets would stretch the stitches, compromising the integrity of these hand-stitched masterpieces.

Determined to find a solution that honored the artistry and effort behind each design, we brainstormed various display options for the two blankets our designers submitted for display at the event.

a creative solution

In one meeting, after a long period of deliberation, we found ourselves brainstorming with the h+h team when someone said “it’s too bad because these blankets look incredible on a bed.” And that’s when a brilliant idea hit us…we knew we had to bring in a bed and an oversized bean bag to the show floor!

This setup allowed us to drape the blankets in a way that showcased their full beauty and functionality. The transformation was astonishing! The bed and bean bag brought the whole display to life, while creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere that perfectly highlighted the creativity and craftsmanship of our designers.

No naps allowed but a perfect showing of these creative creations from our designers.

celebrating community creativity

In addition to this new display feature of blankets, we were able to add plushie animals, accessories and style garments to show the array of designers in the gosadi community.

Throughout the weekend, attendees were encouraged to explore the showcased designs, each accompanied by QR codes leading directly to the designers' landing pages on gosadi. This interactive element allowed visitors to easily support and connect with the creators behind the stunning works on display.

We believe that when designers win, we all win. Seeing the community come together to celebrate and support one another was a heartwarming experience. For those who couldn't make it to the show—or those who want to relive the magic—here are the featured designers!
