Tunisian Crochet, Cardigan, Shrug / Bolero, Ball
What do you get when you mix a giant ball of yarn and style details voted on by a community of enthusiastic crocheters?
Your next favorite cardigan!
Between the Sirdar Jewelspun Ombre calling out to Courtney to become a cardigan, and her asking her community (you should be a part of it too) what they most wanted, style wise, this design took on a life of it's own.
Inspired by the Double Stitch Twins construction method and a determination to avoid seams, the Olivia Tunisian Lace Cardigan uses simple shapes and unique construction for a size-inclusive, well-fitting piece.
Rather than half of the circumference being used for the back and front, Courtney took notes from sewing to follow natural measurements so that it's not too baggy at the back and has extra room at the front for a tailored fit.
You'll start creating your Olivia Cardigan with the Right Sleeve, move on the Back, and then the Left Sleeve, seamlessly and using techniques that may be new to you. Then you'll move on to creating the Right and Left Front, which will teach you how to increase in this tunisian lace stitch. Last, you'll add length below the waist, seam the sleeves and create cuffs.
In addition to the unique construction, you have four styling options: open and hip length, open and tunic length, buttoned and hip length, and buttoned and tunic length. Yarn amounts are provided for all four variations.
