Crochet, Beanie, Toque
Aloha means so much more than hello and goodbye — it carries love, compassion, and peace, and that's exactly why I named this hat after it. The Aloha Ruffle Crochet Hat spells "ALOHA" right into the fabric using overlay mosaic crochet, but don't let that intimidate you — it only uses two stitches, so there's no chart-reading headache once you get the rhythm down.
This one's personal. I designed it as my contribution to the 2026 Crochet Cancer Challenge, inspired by my eight-year-old cousin Kayla and her Wilms tumor (kidney cancer) journey. It comes in four sizes, toddler through adult large, so you can make it for the whole family, and you get to pick your finish: a playful ruffle brim or a clean, everyday simple brim. Make it in two colors for crisp lettering, or go scrappy with a mix — either way, every stitch means something.
