Crochet, Throw
Last year I designed 2 patterns using this stitch pattern. I fell in love with the simplicity of the repeating pattern and it became a favorite for me.
I started working on a blanket for myself (in between my deadlines and other projects) for those times when I just wanted to crochet - without thinking - without worrying about those deadlines, the world and everything else bouncing around in my mind.
I hope that on a day when you just want to crochet - you are able to pick up this project and work away - knowing that it is super easy to make and as friendly and comforting as a granny square pattern.
You can make this as big or small as you wish - just repeat R4....to the desired size before adding the final round of my pattern.
Folded diagonally it makes a gorgeous shawl to wrap around your shoulders to block the chill in the air. Unfolded it works perfectly as a blanket for me on the couch.
You can use any 2 colors of yarn - variegated and a solid look great together OR use up your stashed yarn with this 'almost' granny square pattern.
A free version of this pattern is
available on my blog which is
monetized by ads. If you prefer, an
ad-free PDF is available right here on
Ravelry. The ad-free PDF includes the
stitch diagram.
