When I first met Aimee of La Bien Aimée, we discussed collaborating again after the Fearless Pullover’s success. Well, after two years, this is the result of that collaboration: a jacket inspired by Howl Pendragon from Miyazak’s iconic film Howl’s Moving Castle. Aimee’s and I’s love for the movie translated well with her Helix yarn held double. Enjoy casting your own spells or wailing about ugly you are when wearing this cozy jacket. My color selections are taken from the “shooting star” scene when Howl first meets Calcifer. Use La Bien Aimée’s large range of Helix to inspire your very own Pendragon jacket. Designed to be worn with 6-8” / 15-20.5 cm ease at chest. Model rocks the Size 4 with 8”/20.5 cm ease.

Overall Construction: Fronts, back, and sleeves, are knit from the bottom up, in flat pieces, then seamed together. Each body piece is knit in stockinette. Sleeve colorwork detail is knit flat. Each piece uses a provisional cast-on with a size smaller needle to create a folded hem. The collar is also knit flat in two pieces, then joined together at the neck with a three-needle bind-off. Collar is knit in 1x1 rib.

Stockinette Gauge: 23 sts/4” & 36 rows/4” of yarn held double on Size 5 needles knit flat and washed.
